GBSEx 08 is a brand new and exciting festival taking place on 21-23 November 08 in Manchester’s fabulous, gothic Town Hall. Slap bang in the middle of Manchester’s fashionable city centre, this venue offers a lavish and dramatic setting for what will be a 3-day salsa extravaganza - the first ever international dance festival held here!
GBSEx 08 features a world class line-up of over 90 instructors, performers and DJs and we expect 1500 dancers from around the globe to attend. There’ll be 90 plus hours of workshops, 3 late night parties and showcases from the world’s best. Salsology® is famed for producing exclusive events with alive and buzzing atmospheres and we’re pulling out all the stops for this one, so don’t miss it

The Party will feature the brilliant Hacha Y Machete from Boston teaching their unique Rhythm and Body Movement workshop and performing their latest incredible show 'Cinturita'! We’re thrilled to be able to involve HYM in GBSEx, who were previously unavailable due to another commitment..

 Guinness World Record Attempt @ GBSEx
The most dance spins by a couple in one minute
We’re thrilled to announce that GBSEx has been given authorisation to run a world record-breaking attempt on the Guinness World Record for Spinning!
Currently held by Austrian Tango dancers, Yvonne Rueff and Andrei Chitu, the world record stands at 113 spins in a minute. GBSEx in November will provide the forum for a challenge on this record – how exciting!
The record’s a tough one, but we know there are many talented spinners in the salsa community so we’re looking for all you spinning divas with the thirst for a challenge, to come forward. We’re looking for couples that dance any style of salsa (On1, On2 and Cuban) to participate.
If you would like to have a go at breaking a world record and have your name published in the Guinness Book of World Records, all you need do is register your interest with us, by 4pm on 19 November 2008.

 Lee Wright
You may have heard that Lee Wright died in the early hours of Sunday 9 Nov 08 in a car accident. Lee was much loved and respected by the salsa community and will leave a huge gap in the lives of his salsa friends. We would like to send out our condolences to Shelley, Mat and Lee’s family.
